2015 Women’s Cycling Series: It’s a Date!

The Adirondack Triathlon Club and Grey Ghost Bicycles are excited to announce the third-annual Women’s Cycling Series, which will be held for three consecutive Saturdays: April 25, May 2 and May 9.

If you’re unfamiliar with the WCS, this is a FREE community-based event that is open to all levels of cyclists. All you need is a bike in good, working order, and a helmet, appropriate footwear and the mindset to get out on the roads with a bunch of fun-loving women!

Stay tuned for more details, but for now, we encourage pre-registration for any and all days of this 2015 event. Please email alexkochon@gmail.com to sign up.

We will start each day at 8 a.m. with a seminar/presentation at Grey Ghost (206 Glen St., Glens Falls, NY), which will last approximately an hour, then get out and ride! (Dress warm!)

Day 1 (April 25) will involve an intro to group riding and road riding in general.

Days 2 and 3 (May 2 & 9) presentations to be determined.

For bike repairs or tune-ups (please do before first day), visit Grey Ghost at 206 Glen St. in Glens Falls. Phone: 223-0148

Come Run: Wednesday Night is Speed Night

Every Wednesday night at 6 starting June 19th, Bob Underwood of the Adirondack Triathlon Club will host a group run at the Glens Falls YMCA track. The run will be approximately 60-90 minutes and include the following:

  • Warm up
  • Technique/Running form guidance and drills
  • Intervals/Speed work designed to meet your training/race goals (distance and speed is tailored to individual abilities)
  • Warm down/discussion

Please contact Bob at 796-5908 or underwoodu@aol.com with any questions.

These runs are to help everyone gain a little bit of speed and work on basic running technique. It is fun and at times darn-right silly. It doesn’t matter what your pace is anyone and everyone is welcome. You will be guaranteed a great work out that ultimately helps cut some time off the run portion of your race!
See you out there!
